Marion Bay Tavern is located on Jetty Road in Marion bay and offers stunning views of Marion Bay. We were at Marion bay for a 3 day trip of the Innes National Park and our accommodation was right opposite this tavern.
The website does ask you to make a reservation and we did try our best to make one, but unfortunately for us there was not much mobile coverage after Maitland. Anyways, long story short, they did have a table available by the time we reached. Marion Bay Tavern has lots of seating options available along with a lovely beer garden that looks out to the jetty.
The restaurant was quite busy owing to lunch hour and we had a quick look at the menu and ordered fish and chips for ourselves and pepperoni pizza for the girls and settled down. Ordering did take a bit of time as they had to consult with the chef whether he could indeed serve fish and chips! The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven and the girls were really looking forward to their order. Unfortunately theirs was a bit charred and not really a pizza that you would rave about afterwards. The fish and chips however was beautifully done. However, the portion size was a bit disappointing considering the price.
Overall, the Marion Bay Tavern was a bit of a mixed bag for us. Amazing fish and chips, but heavy on your wallet, charred pizza and not so great service, that’s how I would want to sum this place up!
