Located in Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa Island, Malaysian Food Street offers Malaysian hawker fare. With a quiet, old town ambience, this place provides dishes from around the peninsula like claypot chicken rice from Kuala Lumpur and Penang Hokkein Prawn Mee from Penang.
We were at Sentosa on two consecutive days and on both days we had most of our food from here. With all the rides and adventure activities at Universal Studios and Adventure Cove, we were downright hungry and tired. This place offered a lot of options to choose from and the dishes were all good and the place clean though crowded.
The Malaccan Chicken Rice Ball, a signature dish from Malacca consisted of bite sized rice balls served with tender steamed chicken and a garlic chilli sauce. This one was a bit on the bland side for me, but seemed to be a crowd puller of sorts. The dishes that came close to Indian tastebuds were definitely Roti Canai and Nasi Briyani. The Roti Canai was more like our parotta and chicken cury and the kids were finally happy smile emoticon The Nasi Biryani was made up of spiced basmati rice, pickled veggies, papadom and stewed chicken.
All the dishes in this place are priced between S$2 and S$10, definitely value for money when compared with the expensive fare available elsewhere at Sentosa.
