Raj on Taj, located on Hutt Street literally transports you back in time with its village decor, especially if you are homesick and pining for Indian food!
We dined at Raj on Taj during the holiday season with a group of good friends and thoroughly enjoyed the banter as well as the food. We did order quite a few dishes, right from starters to mains. The one dish that definitely stood out was the spicy beef vindaloo, truly lipsmacking! The nans were amazing as well, especially the garlic ones, which to me is personally the sign of a good Indian restaurant. However, we dined here a while ago and the names of the dishes are honestly a blur, but the food was good and wholesome.
We were seated right in the centre of the restaurant, yet we could still hear ourselves clearly as the tables were spaced out evenly across the floor. Not having to talk over your neighbors when at a restaurant is an added bonus especially when the place is crowded and you are in a big group. Service at Raj on Taj was friendly and courteous with the food arriving on time.
Would we recommend Raj on Taj to our readers? For some lovely North Indian food, absolutely!
