So we finally took the much yearned for Great Ocean Drive over Christmas break made tons of wonderful memories. I will get around to writing about the whole experience sometime soon but for now its going to be a short review of Andrew’s Chicken Joint in Lorne.
Lorne is a beautiful seaside town on Louttit Bay in Victoria. A hugely popular destination on the Great Ocean Road, this place is packed with visitors flocking from around the world. We were on our way to Melbourne and stopped here for a much needed break. The Main Beach at Lorne is just breathtaking with its crystal blue waters and long sandy beaches and dozens of around Point Break.
We had a walk around and spotted Andrew’s Chicken Joint right on Mountjoy Parade with amazing views of the beach. Though a chicken joint, we decided to go for fish and chips while the girls opted for chicken and then some more chicken:) It was a long wait for the food, but we didn’t mind as we were seated outside soaking in the sun. And well you cannot really complain when you have such an amazing view in front of you.
The food was pretty average at best and service was practically non existent owing to the lunch hour rush. We even had to get the cutlery and the condiments on our own! So if you are looking for a quick lunch, this would definitely not be the place. But if you are looking at a place to stretch your legs and enjoy the view with kid friendly (meaning unhealthy average tasting fast food), this is the place. Oh, and the friendly birdies all over the place, an added bonus!

If you don’t like your chicken undercooked, pink even, don’t stop for lunch, give Andrew’s Chicken Joint a miss. Spoilt our day.
