We made a quick trip to M.G. Road right after Christmas and were hoping to have lunch at The Grand. But the place was insanely crowded and well, they still do not take reservations! And you need to wait a solid one to one and a half hours to get a table!
And that’s how we ended up at Tandoor, another one of those gems that used to be our favorite hangout places almost 10 years back. And the place hasn’t changed. Not even a bit! Thank God for that!
We were seated almost immediately as it was already pretty late for lunch and the crowd had started thinning out. And we opted for our regular order from all those years back. Kadai chicken along with tandoori parotta, nan, butter nan and some fresh lime soda to wash it down with! God, ordering this list felt so so good!
Coming to the food, it was exactly the same! Ten long years and the taste and flavor had not changed even one bit! Now that is some major commitment and passion to their food, if you ask me! Service was the same too, attentive without being overbearing.
Overall, Tandoor is still one of those places where you get amazing Punjabi food! And the price is so value for money when you compare it to Chennai! All of the above came to 800 odd rupees only. Oodles of nostalgia is an added plus for old timers!
