The Windflower Resort and Spa is situated around 7 kilometers away from Pondicherry in a picturesque little place called Veerampattinam. We stayed here close to two years back and we fell in love with this lovely little place.
I say little since the property is only about 5 acres or so. I say lovely since its beautifully landscaped. We stayed here for three days and two nights and had a great time. The location of this resort made it easy for us to explore Pondicherry during day time and be back in time for the children to enjoy the pool at the same time.
We stayed in one of the suites and loved the amazing view it offered. Since this resort is located between the backwaters and the ocean, we could enjoy both, the backwater and the sea. The huge oversized balcony opened out to the lawn facing the placid backwaters and it was pure joy to wake up to the sound of a whole menagerie of birds chirping away merrily. And to sight an occasional villager slowly making his way through the backwaters on small boats made all of us nostalgic for our hometown, Kerala! The suite we stayed in was massive and was fitted with a walk in wardrobe, rain shower and well, the works!
The pool area had separate spaces for children and adults. A sandy badminton court was located near this area. They also had a horse on standby incase the children wanted a ride. swimming Service was quite good overall. There was a dirt road leading to the beach. However, we didn’t venture out to check this area out since it was not a private beach.
The restaurant, Bistro serves buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast and evening tea was complimentary for us. The spread is good, but nothing great to write about as such.
