Its been some time since this property opened its doors and we finally decided to check it out over this weekend.
Located right on the East Coast Road, we didn’t have any trouble finding this place. Check in was a breeze and we settled in without too much of an ado. One thing that you notice right away is the lack of green cover. Though there are a fairly large number of rooms, the ratio of the same to the green cover one would normally expect seemed to be way less right away. And the way the rooms have been designed, made me feel like I was back in my ladies hostel room. Though none of the rooms faced each other per se, you somehow feel you are back home in your apartment!
And the place has been done up in greys and white and granite which give you the feeling of a business class hotel as against a resort. A resort for me should exude warmth and luxury at the same time. Though this one did make you feel you were surrounded by luxury, the building nor the décor gave you a feeling of warmth wherein you could unwind and find inner peace. The décor is minimalistic at best and you end up seeing more gray than you have in your entire life!
Its been almost a year since this place opened, but there is not dedicated kid zone as such. This is highly important when you are holidaying as a family. Even more when the mercury is soaring and you need to keep the children engaged. Again, same issue with the pool. If some shade was provided either artificially or in the form of more trees, it could be used for a longer period. As of now, when its hot, it can be used only when its early morning or when the sun starts to set! The only other activity available is a tennis court. The court is superbly maintained. but when you have a property housing so many guests, it just falls short. You cant keep playing for long!
Enough about the negatives!
The food is amazing, be it in room dining or the Gatsby Lounge or Melting Pot. Especially the Gatsby Lounge is mesmerizing at night, when you have a band playing Rhinestone Cowboy in the background coupled with lovely kebabs on a dimly lit beach. Its nothing short of magical! And the overall service, impeccable!
