Last Sunday we decided to head to ECR for lunch and a quick research here made us narrow down the options to Ideal and MGM. Mahabs was just too far as we were already delayed at church. A quick phone call revealed that beach access at Ideal is 500/head if you are not staying at the resort per se. And that’s how we ended up here at Sea Crest. Most of the tables were reserved for house guests and we got a corner seating away from the crowd which suited us just fine. The restaurant is right on the beach and hence the view is just amazing.
As far as rating a place goes, I would give this place only 2 out of 5 and that 2 is for just that, the view. And with respect to food, its just not worth it for the 850+tax tag for the buffet. Children are charged 425+ taxes. There is nothing much to write home about the food other than “average at best”. Only best part was the soup and slightly okayish chicken biryani. There are only two sets of starters, paneer and spring rolls for veg and fish fry and tandoori chicken for non veg. All four were way off the mark. The soup was good though. And the desserts were okayish too. But that’s just about it. Service was pathetic too, but I feel its more to do with the fact that they are severely short staffed. The boys were literally running around. This one’s only about the view, and then some more view!
