We stayed at Village Hotel Albert Court during our trip to Singapore last year. When we started planning our trip, a number of hotels were under consideration and surprisingly this one was never in the picture. And then our friend suggested this boutique hotel and on googling we found a charming photo and fell in love with it! Though our agent was not too sure about this one, we decided on this hotel with that one picture in mind and hoped for the best. And the hotel didn’t let us down!
Located close to Bugis and Little India, Village Hotel Albert Court is made of restored pre war shop houses. The hotel has a modern décor though traces of Straits Chinese still remain. A gift shop, Jacuzzi, fitness centre and two gourmet restaurants round up the rest of the facilities here.
This 4 star hotel is ideal if you also have shopping on your mind as it is very close to Little India and Sim Lim Square. The Little India and Rochor MRT station are within walking distance. The Changi International Airport is 25 minutes away by car.
The front desk staff is helpful and courteous and check in was a breeze. The room was quite spacious and comfortably furnished. We had opted for two beds and yet they provided one more extra bed for our family of four!
The complimentary breakfast buffet was quite nice. The fare is simple yet wholesome with something for everybody from around the world. And the top notch service was an added bonus! The open air eateries and pubs lining the street leading up to this property give this place a whole new lively and happening look at night. And as an added bonus, you get to taste amazing street food across the road.
Overall we had a pleasant stay at this quaint hotel. Like I said earlier, we were in double minds while finalizing this hotel. However, looking back, we know for sure we made the right choice! Would we stay here if we ever go back? Without a doubt, yes!
