So we visited Radisson Blue Temple Bay in Mahabalipuram for a day outing couple of weeks back. The buffet at the Waters Edge restaurant had a lovely mix of cuisines, right from chats to South Indian to North Indian, Chinese and even Italian fare. The children had a special section full of noodles, cut fruits, potato smileys, chocolate cigars, marshmallows and lollypops…
Ambience & Food
A live band was playing a number of oldies and they were ready to oblige the songs we wanted as well The service was top notch and non intrusive and the chefs were scurrying around checking the feedback for their dishes. The live pasta counter allowed us to select the sauces and try our hand at fusion if we so desired. Needless to say I ended up experimenting and tried farfelle with veggies in a makhni and white sauce combo and surprisingly the dish was big on flavours and we ended up with a second helping. The veg tempura and the mixed seafood in oyster sauce deserve a special mention as well.
Service
Service here is non-intrusive and courteous, not like some places where they rush you like anything. Now for the rates, the kid’s buffet is priced at 800 and the adults at 2000. Well, hubby’s buffet was priced a bit higher at 2200 with an offer of unlimited drinks. The resort allows guests to use the pool for a day at a charge of 500 for adults and 350 for children which was why we opted for this resort instead of Fish Cove. So for those looking for a day outing with a huge, well maintained pool to boot, Temple Bay would be a great choice.
